IT'S NOT A KNOCK-OUT IF YOU'RE THE ONE ON THE GROUND.

ree

It's not the knock-out round if you are the one on the ground. No matter how the fight looks, no matter how bloodied and wearied you are by the battles going on in your life or family, until the enemy is the one on the ground, it's not over. Concerning your children, concerning your health, concerning your marriage and life, the knock-out is when you win!

What do I mean? Let's get some context in God's word:

  • John 16:33 AMPC

"I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]"

What this means: difficulties and challenges abound in this…

God's Point Man: Chosen, Qualified & Equipped to Succeed!

ree

Have you ever considered the role of a Point Man in the military? The dictionary describes him as the soldier who goes ahead of an armed force, leading the team. He's the "navigator," walking out front, often the first to encounter challenges or enemy soldiers, guiding his squad safely through uncertain terrain.

Similarly, God calls husbands and fathers to be the spiritual "Point Man" for their families. This means leading from the front and understanding that true leadership begins with personal commitment. You are called to be the standard-bearer, reflecting God's love and guidance in your home. However, like the great reformers before you, you must first submit yourself to God's leadership before you can effectively guide your family.

Josiah: An Example of God's Point Man

King Josiah provides a powerful biblical example. When he took command in Israel, the nation was far from God. Yet, by his actions,…

Jacob: From Rogue Dad to Patriarch!

ree

Then God said, “I am El-Shaddai‘ God Almighty.’ Be fruitful and multiply. You will become a great nation, even many nations. Kings will be among your descendants! And I will give you the land I once gave to Abraham and Isaac. Yes, I will give it to you and your descendants after you.” Then God went up from the place where he had spoken to Jacob. Genesis 35:11‭-‬13 NLT

Such powerful and profound blessings that God spoke over Jacob! Interestingly, like so many of us, Jacob's story didn't start from the blessing cited above; he went through a process of refinement and transformation. Let's take a little peep into his backstory:

Jacob's Journey

Jacob's life story is a vivid testament to God's "process of making." His journey from a "rogue dad" to a revered patriarch was anything but smooth, marked by decisions that positioned him initially as a schemer and…

Love is at the Heart of the Matter

ree

As Christian parents, our hearts are burdened with the eternal well-being of our children. We pray for their salvation, diligently teach them scripture, and strive to raise them in the "nurture and admonition of the Lord." But what if, despite all our efforts, we're missing the deepest purpose? What if we're aiming for outward conformity and a ticket to heaven, when God desires something far richer: a genuine, unyielding love for Him in our children's hearts? Could this also be the reason why some children despite all the teachings on faith they receive from home about faith, do a 180-degree turnaround from that faith at the slightest opportunity they get to leave home? We have heard many such stories of children rebelling and abandoning their faith when they leave their parents' home for the first time.

Beyond instances of perhaps parents not modelling what they teach which in itself is…

Why I Killed the Innocent Mosquito! Navigating Friend and Family Influences in Your Child’s Life (Part 2)

ree

I sat, busy attending to my business, when my eyes suddenly caught sight of a mosquito. It looked quite fresh and innocent, not like those vicious, blood-bloated types that send me into a swiping frenzy with their evil appearance.

However, the more I looked, the more I realized this wasn't some "innocent" mosquito searching for daily bread. This looked like a female Anopheles mosquito – the more I looked at it, the more its potential for damage became apparent. This was the malaria-bearing species that could put my children on vacation from school and send us running back and forth to pharmacies. Without another thought, my hand swiped and smacked it dead.

Hmmmm, why do I worry about an ordinary Anopheles mosquito? It's the powerful lesson that came to me within that experience. You know how God sets your heart to making meaning out of ordinary events when He wants…

Navigating Friends and Family Influences in Your Child’s Life! Part 1.

ree

As Christian parents raising children in today's world, we face the significant task of guiding their faith amidst countless influences. This two-part series explores how relationships shape our children's spiritual journey. In this first part, we'll delve into the power of influence, identify positive and negative patterns, and look closely at warnings from biblical examples.

In our shared journey of nurturing children in the knowledge and love of our Lord Jesus Christ, we understand that our homes serve as the foundational training ground. Yet, as our children blossom and grow, their world expands, embracing friends, extended family, school environments, and increasingly, the digital realm. These relationships and exposures wield significant power, capable of either fortifying their faith or, regrettably, leading them astray. The timeless wisdom of Scripture reminds us, "Do not be misled, 'Bad company corrupts good character.'" (1 Corinthians 15:33, NIV). Discerning and navigating these multifaceted influences becomes paramount…

Becoming Through Intimacy: A Ceaseless Flow of Transformation

ree

"As God’s obedient children, never again shape your lives by the desires that you followed when you didn’t know better. Instead, shape your lives to become like the Holy One who called you. For Scripture says: “You are to be holy, because I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:14-16 TPT

Having come to God and received salvation in Christ, we must walk in the new revelation of who we are: seeds born of God. We are no longer defined by our past life; we cannot continue to run after and expend energy on the futilities and desires of this world. To do so is to live outside our eternal reality, in the realm of a stillborn existence, never accessing and, manifesting our true potentials in Christ.

Therefore, we must begin to see ourselves in the light of who we truly are: seeds born of God through Christ, planted in…

Nachalah! One Generation to the Next!

ree

Discipleship through parenting is a divine calling. As parents, we have been called to disciple the church of tomorrow; in fact, God calls us into parenting for this very purpose. Children are a precious gift entrusted to us by God. Genesis 33:5 tells us that children are a gift, and Joshua 24:4 confirms that God is the one who gives us children. This truth is echoed in Psalm 113:9, Deuteronomy 7:13.

When we reflect on Psalm 127:3 AMPC, which reads, "Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward", this concept becomes even clearer. Psalm 127:3a uses the keyword "heritage," which in Hebrew is "Nachalah," meaning passed down from one generation to another. Psalm 127:3b uses the keyword "reward." The Hebrew word is "Sagar," meaning "Sakar" - reward. Children are the fruits produced by the womb, similar to how a tree yields fruit. They…

You Have Been Authorized!

Engaging your supernatural heritage to access authorized power to execute your divine mandate.

ree

So many times we can feel very ordinary when in truth, we are not; God made you for more and empowered you to be more, as an individual and as a parent. The enemy plans to weary you through situations and circumstances, so much so that you could forget your identity and the power you wield as God's Gatekeeper over His Church in your house. God has called and equipped you to raise for Him, a ready Church through your work as a parent, you are not ordinary, you are His masterpiece and He created you for this very purpose.  Romans 8:30 Malachi 2:15b

Our work as parents is multifaceted and can place significant demands on our abilities. But we have an assurance in God's word, stating that we have not just been called to be parents,…
