Woman Leader, The Audacity of The King's Daughter!

ree

The Woman, Her Purpose and Her Identity.

Created with intention and imbued with divine purpose, a woman is called to a life that is both powerful and fulfilling. Join us as we explore her God-given identity, her potential for leadership, and the path to living authentically and fearlessly.

Her Purpose - Genesis 2:18 (NIV)

"The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”

The text above gives us a first glimpse of the purpose of the divine creature called WOMAN. The woman was created as a helper to the man, for companionship and fitting help.

While we cannot sum up the entirety of a woman's existence in the role she plays in her man's life, especially when we consider the context of a woman's journey from birth to adulthood, it is important to have this clarity from the start; the woman was created because God saw the need for a helper and a companion for man.

When God said to make a helper for man, the word in Hebrew is "ezer " meaning "helper". The word "ezer" is said to have been used 21 times in the Old Testament. The first two uses were in Genesis 2:18 and Genesis 2:20, referring to the "help" God in the course of creating man determined that man would need to be able to fulfil his role as an administrator over all that God had made.

In other instances, "ezer" describes God Himself as the one who delivers and rescues His people (e.g., Exodus 18:4, Deut 33:7, Hosea 13:9, Psalm 33:20, 121:1-2). Ezer in these contexts referring to a "Helper" that delivers, defends and preserves from destruction.

In yet other instances, "ezer" was used in reference to the nations that Israel ran to for help (Ish 30:5, Daniel 11:34, Ezekiel 12:14).

Looking into the contextual meaning of the word "ezer", we find that it conveys a sense of strength, power, and vital support, not insubordination.

"Ezer" is used to depict a strong warrior or ally coming to someone's aid in battle as we see it used in relation to God's many rescuing help to the Israelites. Again, "Ezer" implies someone indispensable, someone who provides what is lacking or needed in a critical situation.

In Genesis 2:18 the Hebrew phrase "Ezer Kenegdo" - A Suitable Helper is used by God to clarify the type of helper the man needed.  "Kenegdo" implies a counterpart, someone who corresponds to and complements the man. A companion that is right, a companion just appropriate to the man.

The woman is created to be a helper either in her role as a daughter, sibling, wife or mother depending on the season of her life. Psalm 144:12 provides further support for the role of a woman as a source of strength and support.  Psalm 144:12 speaks of daughters growing as "graceful pillars" patterned after palace fashion.  We know that pillars give strength and stability to a building. Likewise, the woman in her role as a daughter is strong and provides support to those around her with love and dignity, by the works of her hands and the gracefulness with which she carries herself.

She is a helper in God's kingdom, executing the kingdom mandate and pursuing her purpose while in spinsterhood. (Luke 8:3, 1 Cor 7:34).

The Woman as a Wife

Beginning from Adam's first declaration "She shall be called woman" in Genesis 2:23 we get a sense of who a woman is in her role as a wife. Her origin is unique, she was not taken straight out from the earth as the man was, she is a refined version of the man, pulled out from his core (ribs, Gen 2:22).

In marriage, she is a helper to her husband, an ally, a source of strength and an indispensable strength from God to complement him and provide companionship.

A woman is a helper, she comes with strength and is made by God as an essential, fitting/appropriate help to her man.

The man and woman are designed to work together, each contributing their unique gifts to fulfil God's purposes for their union. They are interdependent and complete each other within God's design of a marital relationship. Both the male and female are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). This shared image implies their inherent divinity and worth before God, regardless of gender, roles or functions.

Her identity - Ephesians 2:10

Like every child of God, the woman is a masterpiece, God's masterpiece. Unique in her form, shape, person and purpose. Her identity and purpose are intertwined; just like Jesus was called the Christ (because He would save His people), so also each woman has been so called by God based on His divine purpose for them.

The Woman as God's Daughter, Abba's Princess

As the daughter of the King, the woman is royalty— a princess, regal, authentic, and audacious! A woman must know her identity in Christ and walk in that truth (Revelations 1:6).

In Christ, the woman is de-robed of the subdued nature that came as a consequence of man's fall and raised into priesthood and service to her Lord, qualified by His precious blood. (Rev. 5:9-10, Galatians 3:28-29). She is the daughter of the King and her identity is Christ.
