Vision Casting for Breakthrough Living!

ree

We continue in our exploration of the first of the Seven Milestones of the LoL Parenting Program; purpose.

Ever wondered why some people seem to effortlessly discover their purpose and achieve remarkable success, drawing the attention of kings and nations? The secret lies in their ability to engage in a process called "Vision Casting," a powerful tool for aligning your life with divine purpose and achieving breakthroughs in life.

In life, there are three groups of people classified based on their responses or the questions they ask about the happenings in their lives:

  • Some complain about their situation

  • Some complain and ask "God why me?", "God when?"

  • Yet another group will complain and ask, "God why, what is this about and what will you have me do?"

The third group exemplifies what I will call the “Habakkuk Tribe” for this discourse. They approach the right Authority, ask the right questions, and actively listen to receive guidance for concrete action based on what they hear.

"I will climb up to my watchtower and stand at my guardpost. There I will wait to see what the Lord says and how he will answer my complaint. Then the Lord said to me, “Write my answer plainly on tablets, so that a runner can carry the correct message to others.

This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place.  It will not be delayed". Habakkuk 2:1-3 NLT

They actively engage in the process known as "Vision Casting”.  What is vision casting?

If you look online, you will find definitions that refer oftentimes to organizations and groups. I did not know that the phrase existed until I started putting this together. So I will not be defining vision casting based on mainstream definitions but based on what I have come to understand it to mean.

Vision casting is the process of birthing an abstract, intangible idea into a concrete, achievable goal. It's a sacred act of creation, where the visionary diligently and carefully curates the entire dimensions of the vision as he sits with God, listening and writing down each detail until it crystalizes into a full-fledged, tangible, clear and compelling purpose that can be accessed and pursued until it becomes a physical reality.

The visioner must envision a tangible future reality that impacts and drives them to take daily action, ultimately transforming their world.

It is born in the spirit, starts as a passing whisper yet leaves profound impressions. These impressions, impossible to ignore, ignite a relentless pursuit within. As the seeker's mind delves deeper, the vision flourishes, nurtured by thoughtful action, diligent preparation, and unwavering commitment to excellence.

Just like Habakkuk, vision casting invites you to take a posture of inquiry, waiting on and listening to God's guidance for your life, season by season. Diligently document His revelations, meditate and reflect on them in prayer until the vision takes shape within you, until it becomes tangible to you.

To live a life of purpose, to truly fulfil God's plan for us, vision casting is key.

The journey to purpose and a clear vision starts with separation. It's about reflection, listening, and understanding. It's about writing, meditating, and envisioning. It's about preparing and executing, one step at a time, as God's purposes are revealed to you. We see this process through Habakkuk’s exchange with God in the text highlighted above.

Vision casting? Essential. Purpose-driven life? Absolutely.

ree

From the quiet of separation to the clarity of understanding, from the power of meditation to the boldness of execution - this is the path to a life aligned with God's purpose. Let us examine in detail the concept of vision casting as the Lord intends for us to understand it:

1.  Separation

"I will climb up to my watchtower and stand at my guardpost. There I will wait to see what the Lord says and how he will answer my complaint". Habakkuk 2:1 NLT

The first thing we notice in this text regarding the unveiling of purpose is a decision to intentionally separate from the noise around us, creating a space for quiet contemplation and reflection in His presence.

Vision casting is about taking cognizance of your inherent need to advance to your many next levels and creating time to seek out and, ask the One Who midwife's you into those levels. It is sitting with Him to find out the "what" of the vision so you can accurately articulate it.

Vision casting entails a separation from the noise around you to a place where your soul can be quiet and listen distraction-free to the One Who has commanded you to "Commit your ways to Him, to trust Him to direct your path".

2. Listening, hearing, understanding and clearly articulating in writing.

"Then the Lord said to me, “Write my answer plainly on tablets, so that a runner can carry the correct message to others”. Habakkuk 2:2 NLT

Vision casting is to show up with pen and paper in hand, with a heart ready to listen and gain clarity. Asking, actively listening and writing down word for word the dimensions for the next level in your life's journey. He gave Noah specific dimensions of the ark to be built, He gave Moses specific dimensions for the temple, and He gave David specific plans for how the temple was to be built. Today He is still giving men specific dimensions and guidelines for how He has determined to advance their journeys through life for impact and success.

“All this,” said David, “the LORD made me understand in writing by His hand upon me, all the work and details [to be done] according to this plan.” 1 Chronicles 28:19 Amplified Bible

3.  Preparation and planned execution

"This vision is for a future time". It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled". Habakkuk 2:3a NLT

Preparation: when God gives you a picture of who He is making you into or where He is taking you, it will be apparent to you that:

1. It is a futuristic happening, not something in the now.

2. You do not have the capacity or means, in your current state to attain that vision, you will need to journey through the process to "become" or "get to” that vision.

This aspect of vision casting reveals that any vision we receive from God unfolds over time; it won't happen instantly and shouldn't be rushed. It implies a need for preparation in readiness for the fulfilment of that vision and, that you must be willing to put in the work required in preparation for who you will become.

Planned execution: As you prepare and God moulds you into the person He envisions, He calls for diligent and excellent execution of His mandate. This diligence involves prayer and seeking His presence, not only to birth spiritual realities but also to manifest the tangible outcomes He has entrusted to you. Don't let religious mindsets deceive you into thinking God doesn't use people to shape and bring about physical and cultural shifts; the One Who formed the earth and put man over it spiritually and physically is the One Who is at the cutting edge of innovation.

What is that idea that God is birthing in your heart that is the solution your world is waiting for? As God's child, you have the advantageous position that when harnessed makes you a forerunner of innovation in the field God has planted you. That is why you can't afford to pattern your life or work after anyone. While mentorship is valuable, you must remain anchored to the unique vision God has revealed for your life.

Executing your God-given vision with excellence is key to making an impact as an innovative forerunner, in God, there is no shoddiness.

What skills, knowledge or associations/relationships do you need to acquire or forge to shape up in preparation for the vision God has given you that you have so beautifully crafted on your board?

4.  Perseverance & faith for breakthroughs

"If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed". Habakkuk 2:3b NLT

The vision is born when the visioner can accurately conceive from the Father, nurture in prayer and preparation and, has the perseverance to push forth, like a woman in labour, not bringing forth before the due time, not being so overwhelmed as to abort the process when the baby is yet to come through and not allowing themselves to be so distracted by things that can lead to a still-birthing of the vision.

To achieve breakthroughs with your God-given vision, you must put in the work and diligence necessary to birth a fully formed and mature vision.

  • What has God shown you?

  • What are your inherent potentials that He has shown you as His plan for you?

  • What do you need to do daily to grow into that person?

Noah didn't receive the specifications for the ark and then go into days of fasting and prayers for God to "make it happen", he set out to acquire human and material resources to begin the concretization of what God had shown him. There is a place to wait, listen and get directions from God and, there is a place for taking concrete, dedicated action to actualize what God has shown you. Building a tabernacle around the first part and not moving forward after God has given you His plans for your life is responsible for the seeming stagnancy experiences by many individuals.

ree

Faith and action go hand in hand. Miracles often follow dedicated human effort inspired by the Holy Spirit. There can be no miracles for humans without human action. Know what God needs you to do to access your miracle and do it.

A wise woman, drawing upon divine understanding, once said, "Every vision has a lifespan." This resonates deeply, as God-given visions ignite an all-consuming passion, capturing the individual’s every thought for a season. Yet, without active pursuit, these visions fade, at risk of becoming another stillborn dream, lost in the vastness of inaction - a fleeting spark of excitement lost to procrastination and inaction.

In summary, here are 4 Sure Steps to life-changing vision-casting for breaking forth in life:

1. Separation and Reflection: Create space for quiet contemplation and reflection in His presence.

2. Active Listening: Seek clarity from God and document the vision He reveals.

3. Preparedness and Execution: Take concrete steps, acquire necessary skills, and build relationships to bring your vision to life. Execute with diligence and excellence.

4. Perseverance and Faith: Remain steadfast and dedicated to your process, trusting in God's timing, even amidst challenges.
